If Bill knew better, he would do better!
Friday night, Bill Maher was schooled by Ice Cube on reasons why white people aren’t allowed to say the n-word.
Ice Cube was ready to give the “Real Time” host a piece of his mind. “I knew you were gonna fuck up sooner or later,” Cube said. “I love your show, you got a great show, but you’ve been bucking up against that line a little bit. You’ve got a lot of black jokes.”
Cube goes on to ask Maher, “What made you think it was okay to say that?” Maher then repeats his apology and Cube accepts, but Cube had so much more to say..
“I think there’s a lot of guys out there who cross the line because they’re a little too familiar, or they think they’re too familiar,” Cube said. “Or, guys that, you know, might have a black girlfriend or two that made them Kool-Aid every now and then, and then they think they can cross the line. And they can’t.”
Cube explains how the n-word can be used as a “weapon” or a “tool” against Black people. “It’s when you use it as a weapon against us, by white people, and we’re not going to let that happened again … because it’s not cool … That’s our word, and you can’t have it back,” Cube said.
