TLC’s Chilli gon learn today that the black community does not appreciate their black celebs not supporting the Black Lives Matter movement.
Earlier this week, TLC sat down with the UK’s Channel 4 News to discuss their upcoming, final album that’s set to be released on June 30. The interview appeared to be going well until the reporter asked about the Black Lives Matter movement.
The reporter asked a question along the lines of wanting to know the BLM’s impact on the U.S. and the U.K. Rozanda “Chilli” Thomas then began to explain how she didn’t attend any marches and basically took a stance with the All Lives Matter movement.
“I personally didn’t go into any marches, or anything like that, but for me, all lives matter, you know what I mean?” she responded. “Because there is a time when different groups are targeted for different things, you know what I’m saying? So, I just think that, just the whole — what happened, police brutality, against these young Black boys, all of that kind of stuff is wrong, even if it was a Caucasian teen kid that this was happening to or whatever.”
While Chilli answered all BLM questions, T-Boz was able to chime in when asked about Donald Trump.
“I don’t care about Donald Trump, so, I mean, God is my president,” she replied to the reporters question on being a Black woman under a Trump presidency. “I just feel sorry for the people it affects, but I don’t care about him.”
Yass for that answer T-Boz. Not so much for Chilli’s comments.
Once Black Twitter got word of the interview, Chilli was immediately bashed for siding with the All Lives Matter movement.
